Opportunities and Challenges of Agroecology: Thinking, Knowledge and Practice -The Report
The Heinrich Böll Foundation Abuja in partnership with the Alliance for Action on Pesticides in Nigeria (AAPN), and the Organic and Agroecology Initiative (ORAIN) organized a workshop aimed at fostering a comprehensive understanding of agroecology in Nigeria. It seeks to assess the current state of organic agriculture and agroecology in Nigeria, develop a common understanding, and identify strategies to harmonize standards and approaches towards sustainable agricultural practices.
The workshop brought together members of farmer’s associations, organic farm practitioners, agroecology professionals, academia, sector experts on organic standards and food export promotion, and very few individuals (on their personal capacities) that work in relevant government MDAs (these are not official invitations of the government).
Attendance: 36 Online Participants, 79 Physical Participants: 31 female (39%), and 48 male (61%).
